Roasted jalapeños, roasted Serranos, tomatillos, lime zest, spirulina, & cilantro turn this delicious pork sausage a beautiful bright green color. Topped with avocado crema, pickled red onion, shaved cabbage slaw, & cotija cheese. The cousins’ crew will gladly grill sausages like Polish-style kielbasa or more adventurous rattlesnake-and-rabbit to pair with a “groot” worth of skin-on frites (in case you didn’t know, that amounts to a lot of fries).

Dog Haus Biergarten

Abuzz when they opened Verdugo Bar in Glassell Park, featuring only a sign that reads “Cocktails” to signal their presence—but it’s their craft-beer roster that turned Verdugo Bar into a destination. Here, people seek their booths and curved wooden bar. Over the years, they’ve added a back patio, which features communal seating and a wall of craft-brewery tins.

Verdugo Bar

Four house-made biscuits served with honey butter & seasonal preserves. A classic vinegar-based pickle, made right here in house.

Tossed with maple syrup & apple cider dressing. Finished with house-smoked bacon lardons & crispy onions. Homemade sausage, craft beer, pig roasts, beef jerky, pickled vegetables, spring days in Texas, Sunday brunch, and all forms of Americana & country music are a few of our favorite things. Live fire grilled corn on the cob dressed with roasted garlic compound butter, then dressed with our pig dust, cotija cheese & cilantro. Topped with fig chutney, garlic aioli & grilled onions. Our menu features house-made wursts, sandwiches, and tasty appetizers.

Wurstküche primarily pours Belgian and German beers from (surprisingly) brand-free tap handles. Try the notoriously tart Duchesse de Bourgogne or the sweet Aventinus Eisbock, which packs a punch. Ryan Sweeney, Brandon Bradford, Cherith Spicer and Kyle Bilowitz set L.A.

There’s even a “woofwurst” you can order for your dog  after they’re done playing with the other pups in the large, fenced-in dog park. The classic Berlin street food that goes perfect with a liter of beer. This curry spiced pork sausage is sliced over a bed of fries, then drizzled with curry ketchup & served with a side of garlic aïoli for dunking. Slow smoked pork shoulder, pulled and tossed in our house-made BBQ sauce. Served on a toasted Martin’s potato roll with beer mustard, house-made pickles, & topped with horseradish slaw.

Complete with a full cocktail program—one that makes use of imported German liquors—this spot also pours dozens of draft beers, not to mention a German-inspired menu of sausages and other perfect-for-drinking bites. And all of this is set to the soundtrack of a live brass band, glasses clinking, and a loud “prost” in unison. Banger’s is one of the most fun spots in Austin to come with a big group and sit on a patio—bachelor party, or otherwise—and it’ll likely be one of the best times you’ll have on Rainey Street.

Layered with butter, cinnamon, brown sugar & house-made peach preserves. Served hot & topped with cream cheese frosting. Our house-made pickles, breaded, fried, & served with ranch dressing. Forego the beer garden for one of these fantastic breweries. Sign up for our email to enjoy Los Angeles without spending a thing (as well as some options when you’re feeling flush). It’s all best enjoyed out front on the picnic benches—a charming alternative to the sports-bar-like interior, though both come with delightfully cheesy ’80s tunes. English muffin topped w/ roasted tomatoes, a kale salad w/ a sherry vinaigrette, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, house-pickled peppers and onions & spicy shoestring potatoes. Vine-ripened & sun-dried tomato sausage infused with cheese curds. Topped with shiitake mushroom "bacon," sliced tomato, shredded iceberg lettuce, & garlic aïoli.

Our take on the classic kielbasas from the supermarket! Served with red cabbage braised with bacon & smashed, bacon-fat-fried fingerling potatoes. Our take on the most classic of German sausages. Mild, perfectly balanced & most importantly, delicious. Topped with sauerkraut & grain mustard. Salted, served with cheese sauce & house-made beer mustard.

Garlic-brined turkey, smoked in-house, served w/ house-cured bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato, red onion, roasted garlic aïoli & dijon mustard. Served on grilled sourdough w/ a house-made pickle & your choice of American fries or a house salad. Served on a toasted martin’s potato roll, dressed NOLA style with mayo, lettuce, tomato.

Banger’s has a lot of beer on tap (104 to be exact!) and another 50 in bottles and cans. That translates to one of the largest patios in Austin, mimosas served by the liter, and a tap wall with over 200 beers on draft. It all seems excessive, until you show up on a Saturday afternoon and realize that they’re using every bit of that space, while pouring enough beers to fill a small swimming pool. This is Bachelor Party Central, but unlike a lot of spots that serve primarily as a venue for rowdy parties, the food is actually good here, and it’s difficult to leave without having a great time.

Served with potato salad, coleslaw and pickled vegetables. Though it’s morphed into a full-blown chain in recent years, the Dog Haus’s Biergarten extension started at this Old Pasadena spot. The food menu reads like a drunken cookbook of street dogs and Denny’s breakfasts, with plump, flavorful hot dogs served on soft King’s Hawaiian sweet buns. You’ll find two-dozen beers on tap, more or less evenly split between craft SoCal brews, big-name brands and some creative picks from around the country.

Served w/ potato salad, coleslaw & pickled vegetables. Generous pours and unabashed comfort food, all a block from the beach? That’s Ashland Hill, a Santa Monica Cheers in the making, anchoring the old Wildflour Pizza space on Main Street with a sprawling, pet-friendly back patio. At picnic tables blanketed in twinkling lights, patrons graze on giant pretzels and shishito mac and cheese between sips of international vino and serious high-alcohol brews. Ample space, friendly servers and plenty of heat lamps to go around make Ashland Hill no-fuss, alfresco boozing at its best. A one pound, large-format sausage, perfect for sharing.

Food trucks often take up residence in the parking lot and game nights, DJ sets, comedy shows and board games are in the weekly lineup. If you’re looking for some stein time, Verdugo almost always holds an annual Oktoberfest party, complete with boot races, stein-holding competitions and prizes. A beer stein-shaped sign greets visitors to the divey street-side bar, but it’s all about the back patio at this Silver Lake institution, a fixture since 1959. Schnitzel and sausage are series regulars at Red Lion, as are Oktoberfest celebrations. House-made bologna, sliced thick, then fried on the plancha.
